Predictable Men’s Fantasies

Hmmm, a very interesting but somewhat unscientific poll in my local newspaper today. They polled men about the careers they fantasized about women doing. Number three on the list was the Executive: the well-qualified female with an MBA, good earning power, power in her job, and tailored suits.

This reminded me of how predictable men’s fantasies are. Speaking of which, guess which career came first? Nurses, of course.

But I thought that would be obvious? Nurses are known to be amongst the most empathic of people (indeed, in some of the research I’ve been doing it seems that an extremely empathic character is a necessary precondition to be a nurse) and who wouldn’t want (whether they may be male or female) someone able to recognize and be in tune with their emotions?
Plus the neat uniforms, of course.
Tell me, can an MBA offer all of that? And what is mere money, power when seet against those advantages?
Although I did once know a nurse who also had an MBA: ran the nursing training operations for a very large vocational school. Perhaps that’s the best combination?
